It is not always easy to keep up with all of the new apps and the latest updates available. Dr. Aron Geelan, DMD knows of some incredible ways that modern dental technology can make your life easier.
Welcome to Digital
With the modern leap to digital, nearly everything that once required film to produce, such as movies and even music, can now be stored on computers for quick and easy access. All of your information, from x-rays to paperwork, can be secured in a single online file which can be available for you at the click of a button.
Intraoral cameras are an incredible breakthrough that is becoming used in dental offices more often for exceptional treatment practices. We are not only able to see inside your mouth much better than we would with a standard dental mirror, but we can have images available almost immediately to share with you. Because we can see inside your mouth within seconds of taking pictures, that means we can begin planning your treatment together the very same day as your appointment. This means less time away from your busy schedule and more time spent focused on repairing your mouth.

In the past, most dental professionals had to use traditional x-ray systems, which require film development. These days, we use digital x-rays due to their many benefits. A digital x-ray is safer and much quicker than its film predecessor. Digital x-rays are a crucial diagnostic tool that helps us gain a better understanding of the inner workings of your mouth, more specifically, the teeth, roots, and alveolar bone.

3D imaging gives Dr. Geelan a more comprehensive overview of your teeth and gum tissues. This allows us to better diagnose any potential problems and determine the next step in an effective treatment plan. We may utilize 3D imaging for cosmetic or restorative purposes, orthodontic treatment, and dental implants.
Cone Beam CT Scan
A cone beam CT scan is a diagnostic tool that produces a 3D representation of your teeth, gums, nerve pathways, and underlying bone structure within a single image. We typically utilize cone beam CT scans when a regular x-ray is not enough. Cone beam CT scans are ideal for surgical planning, the diagnosis of TMJ disorders and tumors, and the evaluation of bone structure and tooth orientation.
We can also use 3D images to predict the outcome of a treatment program so that when it comes to taking care of your teeth, we can do it in the fastest and most effective time possible. It can even be used to detect issues before they can become a problem, which means fewer complications for you in the future.
